Dr. Jay Mengi is one of our main veterinarians at Stittsville Kanata Veterinary Hospital. He has been practicing in Ontario since 2013 and has served the Ottawa area since 2015, providing experienced, compassionate care to dogs and cats across all life stages. His clinical focus is on urgent care, emergency medicine, general surgery, and dentistry, with a commitment to clear communication and fast, effective treatment.

Over the past decade, Dr. Mengi has managed thousands of high-pressure cases, offering calm and decisive care during emergencies. His urgent care experience includes:

He is also skilled in diagnostics, routinely interpreting bloodwork, urinalysis, cytology, radiographs (with radiologist referral as needed), and ultrasound findings (in-house or via specialist). Internal medicine cases he commonly manages include kidney disease, endocrine disorders, IBD, pancreatitis, and immune-mediated conditions.

Dr. Ashok Jadhav has been practicing small animal medicine since 2014 and brings over a decade of clinical insight to his role at Stittsville Kanata Veterinary Hospital. He holds a Master’s degree in Veterinary Pathology (MVSc), which enhances his diagnostic skills and deepens his understanding of complex disease processes.

Dr. Jadhav is known for his calm, thoughtful approach and his dedication to delivering thorough, compassionate care. He is highly experienced in both preventive health and medical case management, with a strong background in internal medicine, dermatology, and diagnostic interpretation.

He also has extensive experience managing urgent care cases, including patients presenting with toxicity, allergic reactions, respiratory distress, gastrointestinal illness, and other acute concerns. His steady clinical style and clear communication are especially valued during high-stress situations.
